HC :: Rainier : REVAMP

♪ Rainier | Idol | 16 Yrs | Jubilife City, Sinnoh

History :: Rainier is a born and raised city boy. Jubilife always had much to offer a curious boy like himself, but one thing that Jubilife never seemed to pass on to him was a love of pokemon training. Rather, he fell in love with singing and becoming an Idol.

His father constantly tried to spark a love of Pokemon within his son, even catching and giving him a Beldum as his first partner, but Rainier neglected the poor thing to join an underground band within Jubilife. Rainier would eventually run away from home after his band disbanded and enter into UBF. His parents haven't heard from him since.

AFTER UBF :: A lot of events unfolded after UBF that caused Rainier to wish to greatly change himself. He was faced with a life threatening task and decided he needed to start anew if he wished to become a great trainer. After this happened, Rainier gave Metagross his new name since he felt by nicknaming his pokemon, it would make them closer.

He also obtained a special mic known as the 'Infinity Mic' that allows him to better communicate with his pokemon.

Personality :: Rainier used to have only one thing one his mind, Singing. However, after the events that occurred at UBF Rainier changed his ways and began to take his pokemon into greater consideration.

Rainier still cares deeply about his singing career but also now shares a deep friendship with each of his pokemon and a few friends he's made along his journey.

Although he can be a tad exuberant, Rainier always has good intentions, yet, despite his joyful demeanor, there always seems to be some kind of sorrow looming over him.
However, Rainier rarely shows a frown and always seem to be the rather outgoing individual.

♫ Relationships

Entropy :: Rainier met Entropy through the UBF Tournament and has been dear friends with him ever since. One of the many things Rainier and Entropy have in common would be, they both belong to a band. A.R.A was started by the two of them during the UBF Tournament and has been going strong ever since. Rainier trusts Entropy with all his heart, not only in person but also as his lead guitarist on stage.

Chyo :: Another competitor Rainier met through the UBF tournament, Rainier sees Chyo as the big sister his parents wished they'd had. Rainier shares a deep respect for Chyo and always enjoys talking with her, just as siblings would. He's promised to sing her a song should he win the Helios Conference competition.

Phantom :: Yet another tournament goer Rainier met during UBF. Rainier finds Phantom to be quite the 'awkward' individual but he still considers her a good friend.

Helix :: As the bassist for A.R.A, Rainier finds Helix to be a fun individual and a caring friend. Although Helix can be a little overzealous at times, Rainier trusts in him dearly.

Eden :: The keyboardist for A.R.A, Rainier hasn't talked much with Eden even since he was recruited to join. Rainier only knows that Eden enjoys gardening and tends to curse quite a bit...

Tenya :: The drummer for A.R.A, Rainier doesn't know much about Tenya. He seems like a fun individual and figures him to have the perfect personality to hold the best beat as drummer.

♪ Pokemon

Kanon the Metagross | Brave | Genderless | Metronome
Rainier's ever loyal Metagross that has been with him his entire life. Kanon obtained his nickname after the UBF tournament when Rainier decided he needed to change himself and become a better trainer. Metagross has been neglected quite a bit during Rainier's younger years, but has never lost a shred of loyalty towards his young partner. Yet, along with his change in name, Kanon was severely injured after the events of UBF and lost his eye.
This devastated Rainier.

Aiji the Scizor | Adamant | Male | Muscle Band
Caught and trained by Rainier ever since he was a Scyther, Aiji can be a bit of a proud pokemon. But Rainier's cheerful disposition brings the best out of Aiji and often lightens his mood. Aiji can be critical of himself a bit too often though and sometimes wears himself out with his constant nitpicking of himself. Rainier usually sings to him to calm him down.

Miyavi the Sceptile | Calm | Male | Quick Claw
Found as a Treeko, Miyavi was the first pokemon Rainier caught after he decided to start his training anew. Miyavi has a very calm attitude that can sometimes be a bit frightening during battles. Miyavi is often mistaken as 'lazy' by other trainers during battle, but Rainier soon proves to them Miyavi's strength with the first swift strike.

Hyde the Croagunk | Naughty | Male | Shell Bell
Hyde and Rainier met under particularly dangerous circumstances. Hyde was in the middle of being banished from his recently evolved pack of Toxicroaks, when Rainier stumbled upon the scene. He figured out that because Hyde had markings on his face that didn't match those of the other Toxicroak, he wasn't welcome there. Before Hyde could start a fight with them, Rainier challenged Hyde to a battle as a means to prove his strength in front of the other Toxicroak. Hyde fought incredibly, and although he lost, proved to the pack his worth. Hyde agreed to travel with Rainier and fight alongside him as a show of gratitude. However, Hyde has a bit of a joker within him, which causes him to act out as a means of garnering attention.

Takeru the Infernape | Rash | Male | Focus Band
Takeru encountered Rainier during the time he was a Chimchar that had been considered an arsonist. Rainier heard about a serial arsonist in one of the towns he had entered and decided to find the person responsible and stop them. Rainier was shocked to learn it was a rogue Chimchar that had been the cause of the fires. After a tough battle, Rainier offered him a place as his partner, but Takeru spat embers at his offer and attempted to flee the scene; however, he collapsed before he could get very far. Rainier took him to the PokeCenter and offered him another chance to battle, but offered an ultimatum this time. If Takeru lost, he would renounce his ways and join Rainier's party. If he won, Rainier wouldn't turn him in and he would leave the town forever. Safe to say, Takeru lost and joined Rainier's party; however, Takeru has quite the temper and still has a bit of a grudge against Rainier. Takeru can sometimes scare Rainier, but Kanon usually steps in and puts Takeru back in line.

Kirito the Garchomp | Careful | Male | Dragon Fang
Kirito was found by Rainier after being separated from his mother and siblings. Rainier rescued him before he could become prey to wandering predators and patched him up. He learned Kirito lost his family and tried his best to find the missing parent, but to no avail. Feeling abandoned and hurt, Kirito attempted to run away into a large forest and get lost in its darkness, but Rainier stopped him and offered him a home as his partner. Kirito agreed and is forever grateful to Rainier's selflessness. He constantly worries for Rainier's safety and tends to butt heads with Kanon since he feels only one pokemon can be Rainier's true protector.

♫ Extra Info

- Excluding Kanon and Hyde, all of Rainier's pokemon have a music note (♪) tattooed beneath their right eye. The colors of the tattoo varies on each pokemon (Takeru = White, Aiji = Gold, etc).

- The Infinity mic changes its color/head whenever Rainier switches to match the pokemon currently in battle.</sub>
